I am a younger millennial, borderline Gen Z, but no worries its hard to read social cues on the internet and I'm sure I came across as a jerk as well. I was just trying to say that these things are a little complicated and if I worded it wrong it's my fault and I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to be rude, sorry if it came off that way. If you aren't than I apologize but you're writing makes it seem like it. I'm guessing you're older than Gen z or younger millennial but many are smarter than to only trust Buzzfeed and Twitter for their news. I don't think I've seen many people take them seriously. TBH Buzzfeed is a kinda a joke, people really only go on to take quizzes when they're bored. When people(even Gen Z and Millennial) want to know more about something they search for more info on it. There are reviews that don't make it on Twitter, Buzzfeed or Rotten Tomatoes.
It's one of the first things that appear when you search the series name(at least it has been since I last searched).
I know a lot of people have extensions like these for getting articles for school and it can apply to WAPO or the Times as well. If you search the title of the articles you can easily find them(just one way without an extension). I'm 19 years old and I know that it's pretty easy to get around a paywall or adblock wall. There's tons and tons of people on tumblr, Hundreds of Nancy Drew blogs as well. I deleted my comment because I realized that it may start an argument and I hadn't seen that you replied. But if they were really concerned with making themselves and the series look better than Bess would be played by someone else and the other issues wouldn't be fixed. Like maybe he was falsely accused/charged but after months of advertising him Ned as a criminal it feels like they maybe say people upset with that and tried to make themselves look better. I've seen other things that have described Ned as a good boy but for some reason has a criminal past. Another problem being the sex and their desire for it to be a family friendly series instead. I spoke with this person who wrote a review for it after the San Diego Comic Con panel and the main issue is that George,Bess, and Ned don't feel or act like George,Bess, and Ned. They put effort into making sure that Nancy stays Nancy but everyone else seems to fall short.
That's the main problem people are having, just wishing that the other characters shared traits with the people they're meant to be. Riverdale may have gotten more than one season but I don't think this will (and I'm glad if it does). I've ranted about the stupid, kinda gross, and problematic things this show has enough times on Twitter and Tumblr. This would be fine as it's own show but it seemingly has little to do with our sleuth and her friends They should just redo it with new names. It's pre-release reviews are mostly terrible and even the nicer ones aren't extremely thrilled. Bess is played by a skinny chick so CW just said forget body positivity and turning Ned black and making him a criminal has a pretty uncool implication to say the least. It's also got nothing to do with the books besides the fact that the main character's name is Nancy Drew and she walks up a staircase in one trailer like she does on the cover of Hidden Staircase. None of the characters behave remotely like themselves.
It's already a train wreck. It basically has nothing to do with Nancy at all.
